Vocabulary of Popular Gestures
An ongoing project by dancer and researcher Rosa Voto and visual artist Renato Colangelo.
A research and collection of common popular gestures and movements expressing concepts of individual and collective experience in relation to landscape, cultural and historical environment.
The Vocabulary of Popular Gestures is used as an ethnographic reference, a series of exercises to explore our physical and emotional spaces, or as a set of choreographic elements.
If you would like to know more about the Vocabulary and contribute by suggesting new gestures/concepts,

"Il Peso/The Weight"
The verb pesare (italian) derives from the latin verb pendo, litterally "to hang" as in "to hang on a scale", hense "pesare/to weight"
